Charlie Peacock’s 398 and 3 Gun Champs Beats the Heat

The 3F Club Lewiston NY hosted its 14th 3F Summer Classic on July 11-13th. The 3F continues to host one of the top money shoots in New York with over $3000 added money and top 100 shoot. The shoot had 56 participants up 15% from 2024. with 2 squads from our Canadian colleagues, including previous NSSA President Steve Malcolm. The weather for the weekend was HOT and steamy with 95 degrees plus temperatures. I would like to highlight again a great accomplishment and hope we all can achieve. My hats off to Al Morris from Cambridge Ont. Who has been coming to the 3F shoots for the past 42 years he will turn 89 in a couple weeks and is still competing. Congratulations Al, keep breaking them and enjoy.

Fridays doubles event resulted in a lone and 1st. 100 by Clay Tietjen, (congratulations Clay) and a lone 99 by Charlie Peacock for RU. Class winners were AA1 Craig Parsons, A1 Chad Seelbinder, B1 Jonathon Walton Ball, C1 Mike Monin and D1 Scott Korzenski.

Saturday’s morning 12ga event posted four 100 straights by Matt Kelley, Charlie Peacock, Steve Macolm and Clay Tietjen When the smoke cleared team USA Matt Kelley and Clay Tietjen emerged CH and RU respectively.AA1 Steve Malcom, A1 Marc Mastriano, B1 Fritz Ochab, C1 Charlie Lombardo, D1 Paul Barnas and E1 Scott Korzenski.

After the lunch break sponsored by Buck’s Pizza shooters took to the fields to start the 28ga event,

The heat didn’t slow Dave Cooley down posting the lone 100 taking the championship with Hugo Sousa posting the only 99 for the RU spot.

Saturday night shooters and guests were treated to cocktails, hors d’oeuvre, shrimp, pulled pork, and chicken dinner, fruit trays, desert table along with all the fixings.

Sunday had ideal weather conditions for most of the day.  Three 100’s in the 20ga posted by Charlie Peacock, Steve Wood and Clay Tietjen with Charlie taking the Championship and Steve RU.

Class winners AA1 Clay Tietjen, A1 Hugo Sousa, B1 Rob Ludwig, C1 Bob Nicholas, and D1 Scott Macintosh.

The 410 event uncharacteristically had light winds and blue sky. Charlier Peacock posted the lone 100 taking the championship leaving Dave Cooley and John Boone shooting off for the RU spot which John bested Dave for RU. Class winers were AA1 Steve Wood, A1 Dave Cooley, B1 Dave Sobiegray C1 Mike Kinsella and D1 Scott Korzenski.

The HOA crown came down to the wire with Peacock, Cooley and Tietjen tied with 298’s going into the event. Peacock sealed the title with the 100 (398) and Cooley RU with a fine 98 (396) with Clay finishing 3rd with a 395. Great Shooting guys.  Class winers were AA1 Clay Tiejen, A1 Matt Kelley, B1 Hugo Sousa, C1 Mike Haff,

D1 Scott Korzenski and E1 Dan Traber.
